The Ram in the Rye has revamped its menu by providing fresh and house made food that is superior in quality and taste to the old menu. The new menu is more inclusive by providing more halal, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options and has been designed to offer flexibility so that a vegetarian dish can be made vegan by easily substituting ingredients or breads.

One of the goals of the new menu is to be able to offer a range of dishes that are healthier and more inclusive than previous menus. The Ram in the Rye is proud of its decision to move away from mostly pre-packaged, deep fried and frozen food and offer nutritious house made meals. However, claims that have been made by The Eyeopener accusing the Ram in the Rye of providing a Quinoa patty that is not vegan are categorically false.

The Quinoa Burger is made of a blend of quinoa, oats, mushrooms and pecans as advertised and is vegan-friendly, as it always has been. The Quinoa Burger is offered in a vegetarian option which has mayonnaise and in a vegan option which has no mayonnaise and a vegan gluten-free bun.

The Eyeopener article uses offensive imagery portraying a bloody burger, contains false information and portrays the Ram in the Rye in a negative light. The Ram in the Rye will continue to work to provide a wide variety of food dishes to the campus community that are low-cost, high quality, delicious and satisfying based on the belief that all items should be made from scratch using high-quality, seasonal and local ingredients whenever possible.
